Three Hurt During Head on Collision

A head on collision on Potrero Avenue in El Cerrito sent three people to the hospital Tuesday afternoon. It has been alleged that the man who caused the accident, was under the influence of a controlled substance and was looking at his GPS when he went into the opposite lane, hitting an oncoming car. Two women in the other car were injured and taken to a local hospital. Their injuries did not appear to be life threatening.

The driver of the other car was apparently paying attention to his GPS instead of the road when he crossed over to the center lane, hitting the other car. He was arrested and booked on felony driving while under the influence of a controlled substance which resulted in bodily injury. It is yet to be determined what type of controlled substance he was under.

Speed did not seem to be a factor in this accident and airbags in both cars were deployed.

As a car accident attorney Costa Mesa, I have encountered car accident cases that were caused by someone under the influence of an illegal substance. You will face severe consequences in such cases.
